Very Breakfast at Tiffany’s - lined, add a bow at the waist and feathers at the hem.
Easy to make - stitch the darts - stitch the side seams - hem - finish edges and your done. May or may not need a zip depending on how much ease you decide to incorporate at the side seams.
This version is lined - watch my Make a Dress II for comprehensive guide to lining a sleeveless dress.
Neat Saddle Stitching on this version is easier than it looks. I used two strands of off white knitting cotton that I happened to have. You could use top-stitching cotton double or embroidery thread.
It is not at all difficult to keep your stitches even, once you get going.
The Beige Linen Ensemble is just a shift and another shift on the top as a coat dress. Both can be worn separately. For the coat I slashed up the front, added some facing, scooped out the neckline and added buttons.
