Next - Sew Along for my Front Pleated, Wide Leg Trousers

I'm making up the FREE PINAFORE PATTERN again but this time with a lining. This is the Video Series in full. A particularly good lesson for Adding a Lining to any Sleeveless Dress

Part 1 - Fabric. Lining. Choosing thread. Zips. The pattern. Altering the pattern. Cutting out.

Part 2 - Transferring markings from pattern to fabric. Tailors tacks. Cutting out the lining. Transfer markings to lining with dressmakers tracing paper and tracing wheel.

Part 3 - Pinning the darts. Increasing or reducing the waist darts for a custom fit. Machining the darts. Tie off threads. Pressing darts. The sizing chart.

Part 4 - Joining the pieces. Sew the bodice. Press as you go. Sew the skirt. Seam neatening. The back vent pleat.

Part 5 - Inserting the concealed zip. Completing the back seam and pleat vent.

Part 6 - Make up the lining. Explaining different methods of neatening the seam allowance. Overlocking stitch on a regular sewing machine. Pinked edges and finishing using an overlocker.

Part 7 - Sewing In the lining. The best method when the shoulder width isnarrow. Using stay tape to support the neckline and armhole edges. About interfacing. Attach the lining. Reducing the lining over the shoulder to ensure the lining is hidden from view. Turning the lining through.

Part 8 - Finish the lining. Join the shoulder seams of the dress and then the lining. Finish off with some hand stitching for a perfect finish. Understitch the lining to the seam allowance at neck and armhole. Complete the hem using the blind hemming foot. Lastly, the final press.
