The Winter Party Dress Pattern Sew Along

This first episode of the three part series covers my initial thoughts on design, creating the pattern, cutting out and making up as far as the bodice. I'm using up another length of fabric that I have had for many years. It is in fact furnishing fabric but I always thought it would make a great dress for parties. I like to do a rough sketch initially and then I do a digital draft. I show how easy my patterns are to assemble and talk about alterations for petit or taller figure types. The pattern is going to be a tight fit on this remnamt so I show cutting out on a single layer. I talk about interfacing and choosing some padding for the collar. I move on to making up the bodice.
